Raymond Persinger

 
 

Raymond Persinger is a living American artist with a great breadth of work created over his storied career.  Persinger attended an art magnet High School, Los Amigos, in Santa Ana, California.  He received a Bachelors degree in fine art from California State University in Long Beach California and his  Masters of Fine Art From California State University, Fullerton. 

While Persinger worked toward his MFA, he was simultaneously the Chair of the sculpture department at LCAD (Laguna College of Art and Design) managing the entire sculpture program, he was a Visiting Artist/Artist Ambassador at the International Sculpture Symposium held at SIAS University in Henan China, and he created two large scale public monuments, and additional smaller commissioned pieces in addition to the course work, TA responsibilities and a large body of work created in cast glass for his his master’s thesis exhibit, including 20+ works, never before seen and cast using a process he developed utilizing recycled wine bottles.

Persinger’s artwork is included in many community public collections and private collections, including the prestigious public art programs of the Cities of Brea, California, Laguna Beach, California, Chapman University and the National Geographic Museum. His work has been selected for various exhibits by prominent curators throughout the United States and abroad, including the Smithsonian Institution’s curator Dr. Virginia Mecklenburg, Los Angeles and New York-based critic Peter Frank, and Michele Urton, curator at LACMA.

In addition to the fine art Persinger is well known for and, his work as an instructor and department chair which has helped to produce the next generation of contemporary artists, Persinger honed his skills in foundry and mold making during his youth while employed at a Fine Art foundry, he also worked as a commercial sculptor and exhibits designer  for companies including Dinamation International and Disneyland Entertainment Arts and was an instructor at Blizzard Entertainment.
